000202: Garment Foundations - The Lounge Pant
Part of our Garment Foundations series, the Lounge Pant pattern will teach you the ins and outs of sewing a pair of pants. Who doesn’t like to be comfy? With an elasticized waistband casing, lounging is easy in these simple pants. In class you’ll learn how to read a sewing pattern, take your measurements, choose the correct pattern size, and construct a simple pair of pants. You’ll also learn a few easy seam finishes to make your garment look great inside.
Techniques learned: sewing crotch seams, preparing an elastic cased waist, finishing a basic hem and seam finishing options.
Fabric options: medium weight woven fabrics in cotton or cotton blends.
Cost: $75 for the two-week course. This course requires a pattern and supplies which will need to be purchased at The French Seam as well. The French Seam provides sewing machines and basic sewing notions to use during the class. Students must have taken the Intro to Modern Sewing Course or have the equivalent knowledge of sewing fundamentals in order to take this class.
