Do you have a serger that you have never taken out of the box or have no idea how to thread? We're very excited to offer you the chance to befriend your serger. Over two class sessions we will cover all the basics: threading your machine, adjusting tensions, using differential feed and much more. You'll be finishing all of your projects with a professional touch in no time.
Over the course of this two session class you will learn:
What a serger (overlock) does
The important parts of your serger
How to thread your serger
How to make basic seams, including both 3 and 4 thread stitches and rolled hems
How to create a stitch sampler
So that class time progresses at an even pace for all students, please make sure your serger is in good operating condition. You must bring your own serger, along with four primary colors of spools of serger thread, the manual, and any tools that came with your serger.
Students need to bring their own serger and serger thread cones, as well as fabric scraps to practice on. We recommend that students bring 4 different colors of serger thread. It will help you to understand threading and stitch formation.
